Karcher Spare Parts in Australia: How to Find the Right Part Number
We stock 235 Karcher items and a large share of them are spares. The single most common reason a part gets returned is not that it was faulty — it is that the buyer ordered against the model name on the front of the machine rather than the order code on the rating plate. Those two things do not always agree.
Start here: the order code is the part, and the model name is not
Every Karcher part and machine carries an order code such as 2.643-147.0. That code, not the model name, identifies the component. Karcher lists spares against the order code in an exploded diagram, so order by finding the machine code first, then the part code, and confirm both before paying.
The reason this matters is that Karcher revises machines within the same model name. A K2 sold this year may use a different pump outlet elbow from a K2 sold three years ago, and the two parts look identical in a photograph. The order code is the only thing that separates them.
Prices are Freshway catalogue prices as at 16 September 2026 and are subject to change. Confirm the current price, and whether GST applies, before ordering.
How to find the catalogue for your machine
Karcher publishes a spare parts diagram for each machine, and the diagram is the authority. There are three ways to reach it:
- From the machine order code — the rating plate on the machine gives the order code (not the serial number). Searching that code on Karcher’s site returns the machine page and its parts diagram.
- From the model name plus the series — where the name is reused across generations, the series entry narrows it. This is the least reliable method.
- By photograph — the fastest fallback. Photograph the failed part next to a ruler and send it to us; identification from a photo is quicker than guessing from a name.
Karcher’s own Australian site is the authoritative source for these diagrams and for the order codes themselves.
Pressure washer parts: the five that actually fail
On pressure washers, five components account for most of the spares we supply. None of them is the pump, which is the part buyers usually assume has failed.
| Part | Typical symptom | Price |
|---|---|---|
Elbow pump outlet pipe, K4 series (9.001-800.0) |
Leak at the pump outlet; pressure drops under load | A$24.95 |
High pressure hose joiner (4.403-002.0) |
Leak at a hose joint, often after a hose has been replaced | A$28.00 |
| Valve and screw set | Pressure fluctuates or the machine pulses | A$30.00 |
High pressure outlet with O-ring (5.064-092.0) |
Slow drip from the machine body | A$38.45 |
Trigger gun G 160 for K2 and K3 (2.641-959.0) |
Gun leaks, or the trigger fails to hold pressure | A$55.00 |
Foam nozzle FJ 6 (2.643-147.0) |
Detergent not drawing; foam inconsistent | A$42.00 |
Note how cheap the diagnosis usually is. The most common “the pump has failed” complaint resolves to a worn nozzle or a leaking O-ring at the outlet, both well under A$50. Before ordering a pump, work through the order above.
Steam cleaner and vacuum parts
Steam cleaners and vacuums fail differently from pressure washers, and their spares reflect that.
| Part | Fits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Crevice nozzle DN 35, 225 mm | Wet and dry vacuums | A$27.26 |
Textile care nozzle (2.863-233.0) |
SC steam cleaners | A$38.12 |
Permanent main filter basket (2.889-341.0) |
Wet and dry vacuums | A$43.74 |
Fleece filter bags, 10 pack (6.904-084.0) |
Wet and dry vacuums | A$43.90 |
| M-class fleece filter bags, 10 pack | BV 5/1, T 7/1 dry vacuums | A$44.95 |
Vacuum cleaner filter set (6.904-143.0) |
Selected Karcher vacuums | A$48.63 |
Car nozzle DN 35 (6.906-108.0) |
Wet and dry vacuums | A$50.00 |
Two patterns worth noting. Filter consumables are the most frequently reordered items across the whole Karcher range, and M-class bags are not interchangeable with standard bags — the class is a filtration specification, not a size. If a machine is used on dust where a class is specified, the bag and filter have to match that class.
Genuine or compatible
Our range includes both, and the listings say which is which.
| Genuine Karcher | Compatible | |
|---|---|---|
| Fit | Exact by order code | Varies; check the model list on the listing carefully |
| Where it matters most | Pump components, valve assemblies, electrical parts | Filters, bags, brushes, nozzles, plastic covers |
| Where it does not | — | Consumables that are replaced on a schedule anyway |
The honest split: genuine parts make sense where the part is structural or electrical, because a failure there damages something more expensive. Compatible parts are a reasonable choice for consumables — bags, filters, brushes — where the replacement interval is short and the specification is simple.
What you can fit yourself
Some Karcher spares are genuinely user-serviceable and some are not. Depressurise and isolate the machine first, always.
- Straightforward — nozzles, lances, trigger guns, hoses, bags, filters, brushes, covers, wands.
- Doable with care — O-rings, seal kits, outlet fittings, non-electrical plastic components.
- Not a DIY job — pump internals, motors, electrical switches and valves on pressurised assemblies. These need a competent service provider, and on some models the work requires pressure testing afterwards.
If the diagnosis points to the third category, our service and repair team handles Karcher machines, and the pressure washer accessories and vacuum parts ranges cover the rest.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you buy spare parts for a Kärcher pressure washer?
- Yes. Karcher publishes an exploded parts diagram for each machine, and individual components — from O-rings and nozzles through to pumps and motors — can be ordered against the part number shown in that diagram. You need the machine’s order code to find the right diagram.
- Where can I find the Kärcher spare parts catalogue in Australia?
- Karcher Australia publishes the parts diagrams by machine order code. Enter the order code from your rating plate — not the serial number — to reach the correct diagram. Where the diagram is unclear, photograph the failed part next to a ruler and send it to us.
- Can you buy spare parts for Kärcher?
- Yes, both genuine and compatible. Genuine parts are matched exactly by order code. Compatible parts are widely available for consumables such as bags, filters and brushes, and are usually 20–50 per cent cheaper.
- How do I know which part number I need?
- Find the machine’s order code on the rating plate, locate it in the Karcher parts diagram, and read the part number from the diagram rather than from a product listing. Where the model name is reused across generations, the part number is the only reliable identifier.
- Is it worth repairing a Karcher machine?
- For nozzles, hoses, guns, O-rings and filters, yes without hesitation — these are consumables. For pumps and motors it depends on the machine: on commercial HD and HDS units the parts are individually available and repair is usually worthwhile; on domestic K range machines, compare the repair cost against a replacement before committing.
