Product Description

SURGE Pre-Spray & Extraction Detergent – Carpet Extraction Detergent

Execute flawless deep-cleaning and effectively suspend heavy commercial soils with the highly versatile SURGE Pre-Spray and Extraction Carpet Detergent. In the professional carpet cleaning and hospitality sectors, dealing with high-traffic dining rooms and greasy hotel corridors requires a chemical solution that can perform multiple roles flawlessly. This professional-grade carpet extraction detergent is engineered as the ultimate 3-in-1 carpet care solution. Functioning perfectly as a targeted pre-spotter, a heavy-duty traffic lane pre-spray, and an in-tank extraction detergent, it provides excellent emulsification of oily and greasy solids, ensuring your wand effortlessly extracts deeply embedded dirt.

Formulated to protect both the carpet fibers and your highly expensive cleaning equipment, SURGE features a high-alkaline pH (11.5 - 12.0) that provides aggressive grease-cutting power. It includes built-in water softeners to prevent devastating calcium buildup inside the delicate pumps of your hot water extraction machine, alongside corrosion inhibitors that actively extend the life of internal metal parts. Featuring advanced drying agents that allow the carpet to be reopened to foot traffic quickly, and a non-sticky formula to prevent rapid re-soiling, these premium commercial cleaning chemicals are the definitive choice for professional technicians demanding reliable, multi-site carpet restoration.

Who Is SURGE Carpet Detergent Ideal For?

SURGE delivers an alkaline pH, excellent grease emulsification, and machine-protecting water softeners. It is highly recommended for:

Professional Carpet Cleaners: Utilizing a highly versatile carpet extraction detergent that acts as a pre-spray and in-tank solution, streamlining their inventory while delivering exceptional results on heavily soiled commercial synthetic carpets.
Hospitality & Restaurant Cleaners: Relying on the high-alkaline grease-cutting power to effectively emulsify and lift heavy cooking oils and food spills from high-traffic dining room floors.
Hard Water Environments: Taking advantage of the built-in water softeners to protect the expensive brass pumps and heating coils inside their portable carpet extractors from rock-hard calcium scale.
Facility Maintenance Teams: Deploying premium bulk cleaning supplies to efficiently manage large-scale carpet cleaning schedules. The advanced drying agents ensure office walkways can be walked on shortly after cleaning.

Key Features and Performance Benefits:

Excellent Oil & Grease Emulsification: The ultimate cleaning advantage. The highly alkaline formula (pH 11.5 - 12.0) rapidly penetrates the carpet pile, breaking down heavy synthetic oils, foot-traffic dirt, and stubborn food grease.
Protects Extraction Machinery: Extends equipment life. It contains specialized water softeners that prevent hard-water calcium scale, and corrosion inhibitors that actively protect the metal pumps and brass fittings inside your carpet cleaner.
Non-Sticky, Free-Rinsing Formula: Prevents rapid re-soiling. Inferior shampoos leave a soapy residue that acts like a magnet for dirt. SURGE rinses away flawlessly, ensuring the carpet stays cleaner for significantly longer.
Advanced Drying Agents: Improves worksite turnaround. The formulation is designed to promote faster evaporation, ensuring the carpet is ready for pedestrian foot traffic shortly after the hot water extraction process is complete.
3-in-1 Versatility: Highly efficient workflow. It can be used neat as a targeted pre-spotter, diluted in a pump-up sprayer as a traffic lane cleaner, or added directly to the solution tank of your extraction machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use SURGE as both a pre-spray and an extraction detergent?

Yes! This is its primary advantage. You can dilute SURGE in a pump-up sprayer to pre-treat heavy traffic lanes, and you can also add a highly diluted ratio directly into the clean water tank of your extraction machine to clean the rest of the carpet.

Is this product safe to use on wool carpets?

You must use extreme caution. SURGE is highly alkaline (pH 11.5 - 12.0). Natural wool is highly sensitive to alkalinity and can be permanently damaged or turn brown. It is strongly recommended to use a dedicated, neutral-pH wool-safe detergent for natural fibers.

How do the 'Water Softeners' protect my machine?

If you live in an area with 'hard water', heating that water in a carpet extractor causes rock-hard calcium to build up inside the delicate water pump, eventually destroying it. The water softeners in SURGE chemically prevent this calcium scale from forming.

What does a 'Non-Sticky Formula' mean?

Cheap carpet shampoos leave a soapy film on the carpet fibers after drying. This film acts like glue, attracting dirt from people's shoes and causing the carpet to look filthy again in weeks. SURGE is engineered to rinse out completely, preventing rapid re-soiling.

Do I need to dilute this product before use?

Yes. This is a highly concentrated commercial detergent. You must dilute it with water according to the label instructions. The dilution ratio will change depending on whether you are using it as a pre-spray or in your machine's solution tank.

Will this product help the carpet dry faster?

Yes. The formulation includes specialized drying agents that help break the surface tension of the water, allowing your vacuum wand to extract more moisture and promoting faster natural evaporation after the clean.

Can I use SURGE to remove coffee stains?

SURGE is excellent for grease and dirt. However, coffee and red wine contain natural plant dyes (tannins). Highly alkaline cleaners can sometimes set dye stains. For severe coffee stains, a dedicated acidic tannin remover (like Actichem CTR) should be used.

Does it have a strong chemical smell?

It features a standard, professional cleaning scent designed to leave the room smelling fresh after extraction, neutralizing the damp odors associated with wet carpets.

Where can I find the Safety Data Sheet (SDS)?

The official SDS for SURGE Carpet Detergent provides comprehensive safety, handling, and dilution instructions. Please contact Freshway Supplies directly to obtain the compliance documentation.

Can I use this in a small, domestic carpet shampooer?

While it is formulated for heavy-duty commercial extractors, it can be used in domestic machines provided you dilute it very heavily. However, be cautious not to over-apply the chemical, as domestic machines have weaker suction to extract it.

Should I wear gloves when mixing this product?

Yes. Because the concentrate is highly alkaline, it can cause skin irritation upon direct contact. Always wear appropriate chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses when pouring and diluting the chemical.

Do you offer trade pricing for carpet cleaning technicians?

Yes, Freshway Supplies provides highly competitive volume pricing and trade accounts for professional carpet cleaning contractors, hotel housekeeping teams, and facility managers ordering bulk cleaning chemicals. Contact us to establish your account.

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.

Thank you, Abe — AWESOME service!
