Product Description

Oates Nylon Polish Spreader Pad 610mm (SM-156) – Floor Sealer Applicator

Execute highly efficient hard floor restoration and guarantee a flawless, professional finish with the dependable Oates Nylon Polish Spreader Pad (SM-156). In the commercial floor maintenance industry, applying expensive floor sealers and acrylic polishes to expansive areas using standard mops is highly inefficient and often results in streaky, uneven coats. This professional-grade floor sealer applicator is explicitly engineered to solve this problem. Spanning a massive 610mm (24 inches) in width, it allows operators to lay down broad, consistent strips of floor polish, drastically reducing the physical labor and time required to complete large-scale commercial floor resurfacing.

Designed for unparalleled worksite precision, the Oates SM-156 features premium-quality nylon yarn. This specialized material possesses excellent spreadability, ensuring liquid polishes are distributed evenly across sealed vinyl, terrazzo, and timber without leaving heavy lint deposits behind. The intelligent design allows the liquid polish to be poured directly through the backing of the spreader, ensuring the yarn remains perfectly saturated during application. Manufactured to fit securely onto the Oates SM-162 610mm Metal Swivel Frame, these essential commercial cleaning supplies provide facility managers and floor restoration experts with a reliable, heavy-duty tool for achieving a pristine, mirror-like presentation.

Who Is The Oates Polish Spreader Pad Ideal For?

The Oates SM-156 delivers a massive 610mm application width, premium nylon yarn, and highly efficient spreadability. It is highly recommended for:

Hard Floor Restoration Experts: Utilizing a highly efficient floor sealer applicator to rapidly and evenly lay down multiple coats of acrylic polish across massive retail showrooms and commercial vinyl floors.
School & University Maintenance: Relying on the wide 610mm span to efficiently seal and protect massive timber gymnasiums and assembly halls during term breaks, minimizing labor hours.
Commercial Cleaning Contractors: Taking absolute advantage of the lint-free nylon yarn to ensure the final coat of polish dries perfectly smooth and crystal clear without trapping debris.
Facility Managers: Deploying premium commercial cleaning supplies that integrate flawlessly with existing Oates swivel frames, providing an economical replacement pad for ongoing floor maintenance.

Key Features and Performance Benefits:

Massive 610mm (24-Inch) Width: The ultimate commercial labor-saver. The ultra-wide pad allows the operator to cover a massive amount of floor space in a single pass, significantly speeding up the floor sealing process in large venues.
Premium Nylon Yarn: Ensures a flawless, streak-free finish. The high-quality synthetic fibers provide excellent fluid retention and spreadability, allowing the operator to lay down a perfectly thin, even coat of polish.
Direct-Pour Backing Design: Improves worksite efficiency. The backing material is designed to allow liquid floor polish to be poured directly through it from a watering can, keeping the pad perfectly lubricated without messy dipping.
High Lint Resistance: Protects your hard work. Unlike standard cotton mops that shed constantly, this nylon spreader is highly resistant to fraying, preventing fine lint from getting permanently glued into the drying wax.
Exact Frame Compatibility: Eradicates installation frustration. This replacement pad is engineered to fit perfectly onto the Oates SM-162 610mm Metal Swivel Frame, ensuring a secure, non-slip fit during aggressive figure-eight application strokes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of using a 'Spreader Pad' instead of a mop?

A traditional mop often lays floor polish down too thickly and leaves heavy streak marks. A wide 610mm spreader pad lays completely flat, ensuring the expensive acrylic sealer is applied in a perfectly thin, even, and highly consistent layer across the entire floor.

Does this listing include the metal frame and handle?

No. This listing (Part SM-156) is strictly for the replacement 'Nylon Spreader Pad' only. The Oates 610mm Metal Swivel Frame (SM-162) and the extension handle must be purchased separately.

Why is the pad made of Nylon instead of Cotton?

Cotton sheds fine lint and fibers. If you use cotton, those fibers get permanently trapped in the drying floor wax, ruining the finish. Premium Nylon yarn is practically lint-free and provides vastly superior 'spreadability' for chemical sealers.

How do I apply the polish using this pad?

Instead of dipping the pad in a bucket, professional cleaners typically use a clean watering can to pour a thin line of liquid floor polish directly onto the floor, and then use the pad in a 'figure-eight' motion to spread it evenly.

What does 'Polish pours directly through backing' mean?

If you prefer, you can pour the liquid floor sealer directly onto the top (the backing) of the spreader pad. The specialized material allows the liquid to soak through to the nylon fibers evenly without running off the sides.

How do I clean the pad after applying floor sealer?

You MUST thoroughly rinse the pad with cold, clean water immediately after you finish. If acrylic floor polish is allowed to dry and harden inside the nylon yarn, the pad will be permanently ruined and become solid rock.

Is this pad suitable for washing dirty floors?

No. This is a highly specialized 'Applicator Pad'. Using it to scrub dirty, greasy floors will permanently ruin its ability to lay down a smooth, clean coat of polish later.

Can I use this pad to apply oil to timber decking?

Yes, many professionals use nylon spreader pads to efficiently apply thin, even coats of decking oil or timber stain to large outdoor wooden decks.

Will this fit a standard 400mm frame?

No. This is a massive 610mm (24-inch) commercial pad. It requires a dedicated 610mm metal frame. It will be too loose and unusable on a smaller 400mm or 450mm frame.

Does it attach with Velcro or ties?

This style of commercial spreader pad typically features durable string ties or specific mounting pockets that secure the pad tightly to the metal swivel frame to prevent it from slipping during the figure-eight spreading motion.

Is 610mm too wide for small rooms?

Yes. A 610mm pad is explicitly designed for massive, wide-open commercial spaces like gymnasiums or supermarket aisles. If you are sealing small domestic rooms or narrow corridors, a 400mm pad is much more manageable.

Do you offer trade pricing for floor restoration businesses?

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.

Thank you, Abe — AWESOME service!
