Product Description

Makita 18V Mobile Stick Vacuum (DCL180Z)

The Makita 18V Mobile Stick Vacuum (DCL180Z) is a highly convenient, ultra-lightweight cordless cleaning solution designed for rapid clean-ups on the job site, in the workshop, or around the office. Powered by the reliable Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery platform, this highly portable vacuum delivers an impressive 30W of suction power and 4.2kPa of maximum sealed suction, making short work of sawdust, dirt, and everyday debris.

Engineered for maximum portability and ease of use, the DCL180Z features an ergonomic on/off trigger switch for precise control and a bagless 650mL dust container equipped with a durable, reusable fleece filter. This completely eliminates the need for expensive replacement bags and allows for quick, mess-free emptying. Weighing starting from just 1.2kg with a standard battery attached (and a mere 0.6kg as a bare tool), it dramatically reduces operator fatigue, making it the perfect grab-and-go tool for overhead cleaning, stairwells, and automotive detailing.

Ideal For:

Carpenters & Tradespeople: The perfect quick-clean tool for removing sawdust and debris from benchtops, vehicle interiors, and client job sites.
Automotive Detailing: Cordless mobility and the included crevice nozzle make it incredibly easy to vacuum tight spaces between car seats and floor mats.
Office & Home Maintenance: A highly convenient, lightweight solution for daily hard floor sweeping and spot cleaning around the home or office.

Key Features:

18V LXT Power: Delivers 4.2kPa of strong, cordless suction performance for efficient daily debris removal.
Bagless 650mL Canister: A high-capacity, easy-to-empty dust container that eliminates the ongoing cost of disposable vacuum bags.
Reusable Fleece Filter: Features a high-quality, washable fleece filter designed to capture fine dust and maintain strong airflow.
Ergonomic Trigger Switch: An easy-to-use on/off trigger ensures you only use battery power exactly when you need it.
Ultra-Lightweight Design: Weighing just 1.2kg (with battery), it is exceptionally easy to maneuver for extended periods without fatigue.
Impressive Runtime: Achieves up to 40 minutes of continuous runtime (when paired with an appropriate high-capacity 18V battery).

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the DCL180Z come with a battery and charger?

No, the DCL180Z is sold as a 'Skin Only' tool. It requires a compatible Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery and charger, which are sold separately.

Does this vacuum require disposable dust bags?

No. It features a convenient, bagless 650mL dust container. You simply twist off the capsule and empty the collected debris directly into a bin.

Is the filter washable?

Yes. The vacuum utilizes a durable cloth/fleece filter system that can be washed and reused, ensuring optimal suction performance and lowering maintenance costs.

How long will the battery last?

When paired with a fully charged, high-capacity 18V battery, the DCL180Z can provide up to 40 minutes of continuous runtime.

How do you turn the vacuum on?

It features an ergonomic on/off trigger switch. This design ensures you only use suction power exactly when you are actively cleaning, preserving battery life.

How heavy is the vacuum?

It is exceptionally lightweight. As a bare tool (skin only), it weighs just 0.6kg. With a standard 18V battery installed, it typically weighs around 1.2kg.

Is this vacuum suitable for cleaning cars?

Absolutely. Because it is completely cordless and ultra-lightweight, it is perfect for automotive detailing. It also includes a crevice nozzle for reaching tight spaces between seats.

Can I use it on carpets?

While it can pick up surface debris from low-pile carpets and floor mats, it does not have a motorized brush roll. It is highly optimized for hard floors, workshops, and spot cleaning.

What is the suction power like?

The vacuum delivers a robust 30W of suction power and a maximum sealed suction of 4.2kPa, which is more than enough to handle sawdust, dirt, crumbs, and daily debris.

What accessories are included?

It comes standard with an extension pipe, a floor nozzle for general sweeping, and a crevice nozzle for detailed cleaning in tight corners.

Can I attach this to my power tools for dust extraction?

No, this is a stick vacuum designed for general sweeping and clean-up. If you need direct tool extraction, you should look at Makita's dedicated wet/dry dust extractors.

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.

Thank you, Abe — AWESOME service!
