Product Description

Karcher Drilling Dust Extraction Tool (2.679-000.0)

The Karcher Drilling Dust Extraction Tool (2.679-000.0) is an innovative, highly efficient vacuum accessory designed to eliminate airborne particulate matter directly at the source. Drilling into concrete, brick, and masonry generates fine crystalline silica dust, which creates severe worksite messes and presents significant occupational health risks. This specialized attachment is designed to suction itself securely to the wall or ceiling, allowing operators to drill hands-free while the vacuum completely extracts the hazardous dust before it escapes into the room.

Engineered for professional tradespeople and facility maintenance teams, this dust catcher significantly improves indoor air quality and eliminates the need for post-drilling cleanups. It accommodates drill bits up to 15mm in diameter and is fully compatible with all Karcher professional NT wet and dry vacuums, as well as T series dry vacuums. By integrating this dust extraction tool into your workflow, you ensure strict worksite compliance, protect your respiratory health, and maintain pristine client environments.

Ideal For:

Electricians & Plumbers: Provides a clean, mess-free drilling solution when installing fixtures in finished residential or corporate environments.
Commercial Construction: Actively extracts hazardous silica dust directly from the drill bit, aiding in strict worksite OH&S compliance.
Facility Maintenance: The hands-free suction design allows a single operator to drill ceilings safely without needing a second person to hold the vacuum hose.

Key Features & Operational Benefits:

Hands-Free Suction Hold: The vacuum pressure secures the tool tightly to vertical walls and ceilings, freeing both hands to operate the drill safely.
Source-Point Extraction: Captures fine masonry and concrete dust instantly as the drill bit penetrates the surface, preventing airborne contamination.
Versatile Application: Safely accommodates standard masonry drill bits with a diameter of up to 15mm.
Universal Karcher Fit: Features standard connection points to fit securely onto the hoses of Karcher commercial vacuum systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the drilling dust tool attach to the wall?

The tool does not require adhesive or screws. You simply attach it to your running vacuum hose, place the tool against the wall or ceiling over your drill mark, and the vacuum suction securely holds it in place.

What is the maximum drill bit size I can use?

The central aperture of the tool safely accommodates standard drill bits with a maximum diameter of up to 15mm.

Will this work on ceilings?

Yes. Provided your vacuum generates sufficient suction and the ceiling surface is relatively flat, the tool will hold itself upside down, allowing for mess-free overhead drilling.

Does it fit all vacuum cleaners?

It is officially designed to fit the connection clips and hoses of Karcher Professional NT and T series commercial vacuums.

Will it leave a mark on the wall?

The base of the tool is designed with a soft, non-marking seal that protects painted walls and delicate wallpapers while maintaining an airtight suction grip.

Why not just hold the vacuum hose near the drill?

Holding a hose requires one hand, making drilling dangerous and inaccurate. This tool holds itself to the wall, allowing you to use both hands to operate the drill safely while ensuring 100% dust capture.

Is this tool suitable for hazardous silica dust?

Yes, it is highly effective at capturing concrete silica dust at the source. However, to remain fully compliant with OH&S laws, the vacuum it is attached to must be M-Class or H-Class certified.

Can I use it on rough brick surfaces?

It works best on smooth to moderately textured surfaces (like painted drywall or smooth concrete). On highly uneven, rough brick, the vacuum seal may struggle to hold the tool against the wall without manual support.

Does it need electricity or batteries?

No. The tool is a purely mechanical attachment that relies entirely on the airflow and suction power of your connected vacuum cleaner.

Is it durable enough for construction sites?

Yes, it is constructed from heavy-duty industrial plastics designed to withstand the rigors of commercial trades and worksites.

How do I remove the tool from the wall?

Simply turn off the vacuum cleaner, or tilt the tool slightly to break the suction seal, and it will easily detach from the wall.

Do you offer trade pricing for electrical contractors?

Yes, Freshway Supplies provides trade accounts and volume discounts for electricians, plumbers, and builders. Contact us to establish your account.

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.

Thank you, Abe — AWESOME service!
