Freshway Bar Fly Repellent & Citronella Disinfectant (296)

Maintain an impeccably clean, hygienic, and pest-free environment with the Freshway Bar Fly Repellent Citronella Disinfectant 296. Engineered for demanding commercial and domestic spaces, this powerful 3-in-1 solution acts as a heavy-duty cleaner, a potent deodoriser, and a highly effective fly repellent floor cleaner. Formulated with a premium quaternary ammonium compound base and infused with a robust citronella fragrance, it delivers hospital-grade bacterial elimination while naturally deterring flies, making it an absolute necessity for the hospitality and food service industries.

Managing hygiene and foul odours in waste disposal zones, pet kennels, and public amenities is a constant challenge. Furthermore, this commercial bar cleaning chemical is completely phosphate-free and biodegradable, ensuring it is environmentally responsible and perfectly safe for use around animals. Whether you are washing down a busy cafe patio or sanitising a dog kennel, this odour control washroom cleaner is your ultimate defense against germs and pests.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this disinfectant repel flies?

Flies are naturally repelled by the strong scent of Citronella oil. By infusing this commercial-grade disinfectant with a potent citronella fragrance, the product masks the food and waste odours that attract flies, while the scent itself actively deters them from landing on the cleaned surfaces.

Is this product safe to use around my dogs and cats?

Yes! Freshway 296 is highly popular in animal shelters and dog kennels. When diluted and used as directed, the phosphate-free formula is completely safe for use around pets, effectively neutralizing pet odours while deterring biting flies.

Can I use this to clean my kitchen benchtops?

While it is an excellent commercial disinfectant, it has a very strong citronella fragrance and is generally formulated for floors, waste areas, and outdoor patios. If used on indoor food preparation surfaces, those surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with potable water before food contact.

Does it kill germs and bacteria?

Absolutely. It is built on a powerful Quaternary Ammonium Compound base, which is an industry-standard, commercial-grade disinfecting agent that rapidly destroys a wide spectrum of bacteria and germs.

How do I use this to stop my garbage bins from smelling?

For severe odour control in waste bins, you can spray a concentrated dilution directly onto the inside walls of the empty bin, or pour a small amount of the solution directly into industrial drains and loading docks to instantly neutralise the bacterial source of the smell.

Do I need to dilute this product with water?

Yes, Freshway 296 is a concentrated commercial liquid. You must dilute it with water into a mop bucket or a spray bottle according to the severity of the cleaning task. Check the product label for specific daily cleaning vs. heavy disinfecting dilution ratios.

Does this product leave a sticky residue on the floor?

No. When diluted correctly, the biodegradable surfactants easily lift dirt and grease, leaving behind a streak-free, non-sticky finish on tiles, concrete, and linoleum floors.

Is it safe for the environment?

Yes. The formulation is 100% phosphate-free and utilizes biodegradable surfactants, meaning it breaks down safely and will not harm the environment or local waterways when washed down the drain.

Does it kill flies like a bug spray?

No. This is a surface disinfectant and a 'repellent', not an insecticide. It does not kill flies on contact; rather, the citronella scent creates an invisible barrier that prevents flies from wanting to enter the area or land on the floors.

Can I use it to mop a public washroom?

Yes, it is highly effective for public amenities. It will clean the floors, disinfect the toilet areas, kill the bacteria causing the urine smells, and leave the entire washroom smelling like fresh citronella.

What is a 'Quaternary Ammonium Compound'?

Often referred to as 'Quats', these are highly effective, hospital-grade antimicrobial chemicals used in commercial cleaning. They are excellent at killing germs without emitting the harsh, toxic, stinging fumes associated with bleach.

Do you offer bulk trade pricing for cafes and restaurants?

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.

Thank you, Abe — AWESOME service!
