What does '38/40mm' mean?

It refers to the oversized diameter of the vacuum system. Standard domestic vacuums use a 32mm hose. A 38/40mm hose is significantly wider, designed specifically for heavy industrial machines so they can suck up large debris (like gravel or wood shavings) without getting blocked.

Does this include the handle where I hold the vacuum?

Yes. This is a 'Complete Hose Assembly'. It includes the thick flexible ribbed hose, the specific connector that pushes into the vacuum machine, AND the hard plastic handle where you attach your metal wand. It is completely ready to use.

Will this fit my standard Pacvac backpack or home Dyson?

Absolutely NOT. Standard domestic and backpack vacuums use the much smaller 32mm standard. This 38/40mm hose is enormous and will be vastly too large to fit those machines.

How do I install this new hose?

It requires absolutely no tools. You simply pull your old broken hose assembly out of the front of the industrial vacuum canister, and push the machine-end fitting of this new hose directly into the hole until it creates a tight friction seal.

Why has my twin-motor vacuum lost so much suction?

If the drum isn't full, a severe loss of suction is almost always caused by a split in the flexible hose. Twin motor machines generate massive suction, so even a tiny crack in the hose will leak huge amounts of air. Replacing the entire hose assembly is the only way to fix it properly.

Does it come with the metal wands?

No. This listing is for the complete flexible hose assembly only. The rigid 38mm metal extension wands and the oversized floor tools must be purchased separately or reused from your existing setup.
