Product Description

Actichem Powerstrip – Heavy Duty Industrial Floor Stripper & Coating Remover

Actichem Powerstrip is a next-generation, high-performance floor stripper engineered specifically for the rapid eradication of stubborn solvent-based sealers, ultra-high-speed (UHS) burnished finishes, and heavy polish build-ups. Formulated with advanced alkaline chemistry (pH 12), this heavy-duty stripping agent begins liquefying aged and hardened floor coatings immediately upon contact. By significantly reducing the need for aggressive mechanical agitation, Powerstrip minimizes labor time and machine wear, making it the definitive choice for large-scale commercial and industrial floor restoration projects.

Designed with operator safety and environmental compliance in mind, the Powerstrip formula features a low-odour, mild citrus fragrance and low-foam characteristics. This ensures seamless compatibility with high-speed rotary scrubbers and automated floor scrubbers (autoscrubbers) without causing foam lock in recovery tanks. It is exceptionally effective for stripping natural stone, terracotta, terrazzo, concrete, and masonry surfaces prior to resealing. Please note: Due to its extreme heavy-duty nature, it is strictly not suitable for use on wood, vinyl, linoleum, or plastic flooring.

Rapid Coating Liquefaction & Operational Efficiency

The Actichem Powerstrip system is widely utilized in high-traffic facilities such as shopping centres, hospitals, and schools where facility downtime must be minimized. Its free-rinsing chemistry guarantees that once the chemical slurry is vacuumed, no sticky residue is left behind, ensuring the substrate is perfectly neutralized and prepared for a new protective coating. For professional results, proper dilution is key: a 1:10 ratio easily handles light maintenance, while a potent 1:4 ratio instantly breaks down the most resilient multi-layered UHS finishes.

Key Features and Performance Benefits:

Instant Coating Breakdown: Advanced solvents liquefy stubborn finishes on contact, drastically cutting labor time.
UHS & Solvent Sealer Removal: Specifically formulated to strip ultra-high-speed burnished layers that standard strippers leave behind.
Low-Foam Chemistry: Optimized for use with commercial autoscrubbers and rotary floor machines.
Free-Rinsing Formula: Leaves no hazy residue, ensuring optimal adhesion for new sealers and polishes.
Low-Odour Profile: Mild citrus scent improves operator comfort in enclosed indoor environments.
High-Yield Dilution: Economical 1:4 to 1:10 ratios provide extensive coverage from a single 5L container.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Actichem Powerstrip not suitable for vinyl or linoleum floors?

Powerstrip is a heavy-duty, highly alkaline (pH 12) stripper designed to melt tough solvent sealers. This aggressive chemistry can warp, discolour, or melt softer resilient flooring like vinyl, plastics, and natural linoleum. It is strictly for hard surfaces like stone and concrete.

What does 'UHS' mean, and why is it hard to remove?

UHS stands for Ultra-High-Speed burnished finishes. These polishes are essentially 'baked' onto the floor using high-speed friction, creating a glass-like, incredibly hard layer. Standard strippers cannot penetrate this layer, but Powerstrip's specific solvents are engineered to liquefy it.

Can I use an automated floor scrubber (autoscrubber) to remove the slurry?

Yes. Powerstrip features a low-foam formula, making it highly compatible with autoscrubbers. It prevents 'foam lock' in your machine's recovery tank, allowing for efficient vacuuming of the stripped slurry.

What is the recommended dilution for stripping multiple layers of old polish?

For heavy build-up or UHS finishes, dilute Powerstrip at a ratio of 1:4 (250ml of chemical per 1 Litre of water). For lighter, routine stripping, a 1:10 ratio (100ml per Litre) is sufficient.

How long should I leave the stripper on the floor before scrubbing?

Apply the diluted solution generously and allow a minimum dwell time of 5 minutes. It is critical that you do not let the solution dry out during this time; keep the surface wet so the chemicals can actively dissolve the coating.

Does this product have a strong chemical smell?

No. Despite its heavy-duty performance, Powerstrip is formulated with a low-odour profile and a mild citrus fragrance, making it much more comfortable for operators and suitable for use in public facilities like hospitals or schools.

Do I need to neutralize the floor after using Powerstrip?

Because it is a free-rinsing formula, a thorough rinse with clean water and a wet vacuum is usually sufficient to remove the alkaline residue. However, the floor must be completely clean, dry, and free of any chemical trace before you apply a new sealer.

What type of floor pad should I use with my rotary machine?

For stripping heavy coatings with Actichem Powerstrip, you should use a heavy-duty stripping pad (typically a Black or High-Productivity Brown pad) attached to your rotary floor machine.

Is this product safe for terracotta tiles?

Yes, it is highly effective at removing old sealers from terracotta, natural stone, and terrazzo, restoring the natural surface so it can be properly resealed.

Do you offer trade pricing for commercial floor care specialists?

Yes, Freshway Supplies provides competitive trade and bulk pricing for floor restoration companies, contractors, and facility managers. Contact us for a volume quote.

They earned it! I hardly ever leave reviews, but Abe absolutely deserves this one.

I rang ready to spend nearly $2,000. Unfortunately, the item wasn’t in stock for pickup and would take seven days to arrive. Abe said he’d call me back.

Five minutes later, he had found one in stock at another business in Parramatta — and negotiated the same discount for me there.
He had just lost the sale, yet he was genuinely happy he could help. That says everything.

This is how an excellent reputation is earned: day by day, customer by customer. Could not possibly ask for more.
