Actichem Grout Restore 60 (60% Phosphoric Acid Cleaner) - 5L

Execute the most severe post-construction cleanups and hard floor restorations with Actichem Grout Restore 60 (AP159). When standard acidic cleaners fail to shift thick mortar smears and heavy efflorescence, commercial contractors require an industrial-strength solution. Formulated with a massive 60% active phosphoric acid concentration, this heavy-duty acidic grout cleaner delivers unparalleled dissolving power. It rapidly breaks down hardened cement splashes, severe calcium scale, and thick grout haze that plague newly installed ceramic and porcelain tiles.

Unlike raw hydrochloric acid, which emits highly toxic, choking fumes and aggressively corrodes surrounding metals, this phosphoric acid formulation incorporates advanced penetrating agents and detergents. This allows it to break through the surface tension of stubborn alkaline deposits efficiently, providing maximum restorative power with a safer handling profile. Ideal for large-scale builders' cleans, commercial washroom restorations, and pool surround descaling, this 5-Litre cement residue remover is an indispensable chemical asset for professional tile layers and restoration experts across Australia.

Ideal For:

  • Post-Construction (Builders Clean): The 60% concentration instantly dissolves thick, hardened cement splashes and stubborn grout smears left behind on new tile installations.
  • Heavy Restoration Projects: Aggressively strips away years of built-up hard water scale, heavy soap scum, and white mineral efflorescence from commercial showers and outdoor masonry.
  • Grout Preparation: Highly effective at stripping embedded contamination and alkaline residues from old grout lines, ensuring optimal adhesion prior to applying new grout sealers.

Key Features & Operational Benefits:

  • Extreme 60% Phosphoric Acid: Provides industrial-strength chemical reactions to break down heavy alkaline binders and calcium deposits where lower-concentration acids fail.
  • Advanced Penetrating Agents: Formulated with specialty wetting agents that drive the acid deep into porous grout and hardened mortar, significantly accelerating the dissolving process.
  • Removes Efflorescence: Quickly neutralizes and removes the thick, white crystalline mineral salts that bloom heavily on outdoor brickwork, concrete, and retaining walls.
  • Safer Alternative to Hydrochloric: While highly acidic (pH 1.0), phosphoric acid produces significantly less fuming and is less corrosive to surrounding infrastructure than raw hydrochloric acid.
  • Highly Economical Dilution: Dilutes from 1:4 for severe, thick cement removal, down to 1:40 for standard light grout haze, maximizing the commercial yield of the 5L drum.

What is the difference between Grout Restore 20 and Grout Restore 60?

Grout Restore 20 contains a 20% phosphoric acid concentration, suitable for general builders cleans and light haze. Grout Restore 60 is an industrial-strength formula containing a massive 60% phosphoric acid concentration, designed for extreme restoration and dissolving thick, hardened cement splashes where standard acids fail.

Is this product classified as Dangerous Goods?

Yes. Due to the extreme 60% acid concentration, this product is classified as a Class 8 Corrosive. It must be transported, stored, and handled in strict accordance with commercial chemical safety regulations.

Can I use this on Marble or Limestone floors?

Absolutely NOT. Because this product is highly acidic (pH 1.0), it will instantly burn, severely etch, and permanently destroy acid-sensitive natural stones like marble, limestone, granite, and terrazzo. It is strictly for ceramic, porcelain, and standard masonry.

How do I dilute this for a standard builders clean (grout haze)?

For light to medium grout haze removal, it should be diluted significantly at a ratio of 1:30 to 1:40 (approximately 20ml to 30ml per Litre of water). Always pre-test your dilution rate on an inconspicuous tile first.

How do I dilute it for thick cement splashes?

For heavy-duty restorative cleaning (hardened cement and thick efflorescence), dilute the product at 1:4 to 1:8. Apply to the localized area, agitate with a stiff brush, and rinse thoroughly.

Do I need to neutralize the floor after using this?

Yes. After cleaning and rinsing the acid away, it is highly recommended to wash the floor with a mildly alkaline neutralizer (such as Actichem Proneutro at 1:300) to ensure no active acid remains in the grout lines.

Can I let the solution dry on the floor?

No. Never allow the acid solution to dry on the tiles or grout. It must be kept wet during the required 10-30 minute reaction time and then rinsed away completely while still wet to prevent permanent etching.

What safety gear do I need to wear?

Because this is a Class 8 Corrosive, operators must strictly wear full commercial Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including heavy-duty chemical-resistant gloves, rubber boots, and splash-proof safety goggles.

Do you offer trade pricing for tile restorers?
