Hako Rocket Vac 2-Pole Power Switch – Replacement Vacuum Switch (13780014)

Ensure your heavy-duty commercial backpack vacuum starts reliably every single shift with the Hako Rocket Vac 2-Pole Power Switch (13780014). In the grueling world of contract cleaning, operators are constantly turning their backpack vacuums on and off as they move between offices, stairwells, and retail spaces. This relentless, repetitive clicking eventually causes the internal contacts of standard switches to arc and fail. If your Rocket Vac is failing to turn on, or randomly losing power while you walk, you need this robust, industrial-grade vacuum cleaner switch to restore absolute dependability to your machine.

Not all electrical switches are created equal. This premium replacement power switch is specifically engineered for the massive electrical draw of commercial vacuum motors, boasting a heavy-duty 2HP (Horsepower) rating. Furthermore, it features a specialized dust-proof construction, preventing the microscopic dust common in commercial environments from penetrating the switch mechanism and ruining the electrical contacts. Designed as an exact-fit Hako replacement part for the Rocket Vac, this 2-pole switch is an essential, highly cost-effective repair component for technicians looking to drastically extend the functional life of their expensive cleaning fleet.

*Safety Warning: Replacing a vacuum switch requires opening the machine's casing and handling 240V electrical connections. This repair should only be undertaken by a qualified appliance repair technician or someone with appropriate electrical competence.

Who Is This Hako 2-Pole Switch Ideal For?

The 13780014 Power Switch provides dust-proof durability and a massive 2HP rating. It is highly recommended for:

  • Appliance Repair Technicians: Keeping a bulk supply of heavily rated vacuum cleaner switches in the workshop to rapidly repair the most common electrical point of failure on commercial backpack vacuums.
  • Commercial Cleaning Contractors: Having their on-staff technician quickly replace a faulty replacement power switch on a Rocket Vac to ensure the machine doesn't randomly cut out during a massive office cleanup.
  • Facility & Maintenance Managers: Saving hundreds of dollars in equipment replacement costs by diagnosing and fixing a simple $15 broken switch rather than discarding an entire $400 backpack vacuum.
  • Tool & Equipment Hire Companies: Utilizing a highly durable, dust-proof Hako replacement part to refurbish heavily abused rental vacuums so they withstand constant, aggressive clicking by customers.

Key Features and Performance Benefits:

  • Heavy-Duty 2HP Rating: Engineered to easily handle the massive initial power surge (inrush current) generated when a 1000W+ commercial vacuum motor first starts up, preventing the switch from burning out.
  • Dust-Proof Construction: The internal mechanism is heavily shielded against the infiltration of ultra-fine dust. This prevents dirt from sitting between the metal contacts and causing the switch to fail or spark.
  • 2-Pole Isolation Safety: As a 2-pole switch, it cuts both the Active and Neutral wires simultaneously when switched off, providing a significantly higher level of electrical safety for the operator.
  • Restores Reliable Power: Completely fixes frustrating issues where the vacuum refuses to turn on, cuts out mid-vacuum, or requires the user to wiggle the button to make a connection.
  • Highly Cost-Effective Repair: Keeps perfectly good, high-suction Hako vacuums out of landfill and back in the field by addressing a minor, easily fixable electrical fault.

What does '2-Pole' mean?

A standard 1-pole switch only cuts the 'Active' (brown) wire to stop the machine. A 2-Pole switch is much safer; it cuts both the 'Active' (brown) AND the 'Neutral' (blue) wires simultaneously. This completely isolates the motor from the electrical mains when the switch is turned off.

Why is a 'Dust-Proof' switch important?

Backpack vacuums operate in incredibly dusty environments. If fine dust gets inside a normal switch, it sits between the metal contacts. When you press the button, the electricity arcs across the dust, causing sparks that eventually burn the switch out. A dust-proof switch prevents the dirt from getting inside, lasting significantly longer.

How do I know if my switch is broken or if my motor is dead?

If the vacuum randomly cuts out while you are walking, or if you can feel that the switch no longer 'clicks' firmly into place, it is likely a broken switch. If the vacuum made a loud popping noise, smelled like burning electrical wire, and won't turn on at all, the motor is likely dead.

Can I install this switch myself?

Because this repair requires opening the plastic housing of the vacuum and removing/reconnecting live 240V electrical spade terminals, it is highly recommended that it is only installed by a qualified appliance repair technician or a person with strict electrical competence.

What does a 2HP rating mean?

HP stands for Horsepower. When a vacuum motor first turns on, it draws a massive spike of electricity for a fraction of a second. A 2HP rated switch is built with heavy-duty metal contacts designed specifically to survive that massive power spike without melting together.

Do I need to solder the wires onto this new switch?

Generally, no. The wiring inside commercial backpack vacuums usually connects to the switch using metal 'spade' terminals (push-on clips). You simply pull the four metal clips off the old switch and push them firmly onto the four metal prongs of this new 2-pole switch.

Will this fit my Pacvac Superpro 700?

This specific switch (13780014) is dimensionally sized to clip into the housing of the Hako Rocket Vac. While the electrical function is the same, it may not physically fit into the cut-out hole on a Pacvac machine.

Do you offer trade pricing for vacuum repair shops?

Yes, Freshway Supplies provides highly competitive volume pricing and trade accounts for appliance repair mechanics, electrical test-and-tag technicians, and commercial cleaning companies. Contact us to establish your trade account for spare parts.
